About us

Gum Base Co., a Perfetti Van Melle Group company, is a global leader in the production of gum base. We have an unwavering commitment to strict quality standards, careful selection and use of food ingredients and cutting- edge production processes. Our products and processes are the result of decades of experience and innovation, with attention to sustainability and safety.

INNOVATION HAS A HISTORY

1967

Gum Base Co. is established as a strategic production unit within the Perfetti Van Melle Group.

1994

Gum Base Co. opens a production unit in India and in China.

1999

Gum Base Co. is among the first to introduce pearl shape dosable format.

2006

Gum Base Co. facilities transition from batch production to a continuous production cycle, gaining competitive advantages in quality and output.

2017

Gum Base launches its Ingredients Business Unit, aiming to streamline and reduce costs for semi-finished products across the entire Perfetti Van Melle and Third Party Customers supply chain.

2025

The gum base manufacturing site in Rockford, USA, acquired by PVM Group in 2023, becomes part of the Gum Base Business Unit.
